Where the Heart Lies
A Chapman University thesis film
"Where the Heart Lies" is a Chapman University senior thesis film that tells the true story of Hunter Lewis, who disappeared off the shore of Northern California while creating an extraordinary treasure hunt for his friends and family. Hunter was a childhood friend of mine and a shining star who touched many people's lives. This project is supported by Hunter's father Corey and girlfriend Kinsley, to ensure an authentic portrayal of Hunter's spirit and legacy.
However, the only way to do Hunter's story justice is to film it where it happened, in Humboldt County, requiring us to cover the expenses of bringing fellow film students from Southern California to the very places where Hunter's story unfolded: Trinidad Head, Moonstone Beach, his cherished home in Blue Lake, and more. This includes transportation, lodging, and providing three meals a day for our team. Additionally, there are the typical expenses that any film production must face, such as equipment rentals, location permits, or props.
We are truly grateful for any support that the community can provide in helping us bring to life this incredible story that touched and reach so many people. Your contribution, whether small or large, will make a meaningful difference in the success of our project, and it will be greatly appreciated.
